Assistant Technical Director
Position IntroductionThe Assistant Technical Director is a half-time (20 hour), 10-month position, that will work with the Technical Director of the Scene Shop to supervise students' workers and setting up Theater, Music, and Dance productions. Job Description The Assistant Technical Director will supervise grip, lighting, prop, and fly crews, as well as prepare theatrical rigging and lighting. This person will also guide students in solving technical problems encountered in lighting and set design and construction, and prepares for and crews Music department productions.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job. It is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities and requirements.Minimum Qualifications Carpentry and painting skills; Thorough knowledge of scenery construction; Thorough knowledge of rigging, lighting, and sound production; Basic knowledge of music performance requirements, including the use of sound recording equipment. Preferred Qualifications 3 years technical theater experience; Experience supervising Scene Shop staff; Bachelors degree in Theater or related field.
