Summary/Objective The Quality Technician monitors and enforces raw material, purchased components and production part quality both upon arrival, during, and after production.
He or she functions as quality department representative to internal and external customers, and participates in ongoing efforts to improve the quality system.
Maintains safety and quality system standards, keeps proper documentation, and maintains equipment and gaging to support the achievement of Masterbilt' s business goals and objectives.
Requirements:
Essential Functions Strong background in the ISO 13485 Inspects incoming material and components Tests and inspects parts during and after production to determine product acceptance.
Uses calipers, micrometers, manual and digital gages to ensure conformance with print specifications and established quality standards, plus performs inspections.
Coordinate external calibrations and perform some internal calibrations on simple gages such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages Interprets part blueprints, material specifications, engineering plans and specifications, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Maintains quality assurance operations by following existing policies and procedures and by reporting changes / improvements as needed to Leadership.
Evaluates reliability of source information by analyzing data and reviewing part history.
Resolves testing / inspection problems when encountered by checking measuring equipment and communicating problems as appropriate.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains measuring equipment by verification of calibration, completion of preventive maintenance requirements as required by Masterbilt or the equipment manufacturer, as well as troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs when needed.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Competencies/Qualifications Basic mathematical skills Ability to read blue prints Some experience using basic shop measuring equipment is required (this includes various manual and digital gages and equipment such as a comparator) Strong organizational skills 20/20 vision with or without correction Computer literacy - specifically Microsoft Office Suite and ability to enter an maintain quality records in Microsoft Excel and ERP system Candidate should possess a strong work ethic and be able to manage tasks and meet deadlines once priorities are established.
Proficient communication skillsPhysical Demands This position may require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and use of hands and fingers.
The employee may be required lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.

30PM This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
